Wall tapestry bedroom DIY

wall tapestry bedroom diy

Last time I showed how I made our cute little suitcase bedside tables with the hairpin legs (check it out here if you haven’t seen it yet) This week I focused on our Guest bedroom.

We live in a rented apartment which means any drilling into the walls will have to be fixed back once we decide to move out. For this reason I’m trying to stay away from drill as much as possible.

I thought long and hard on how to create bed headboard feature which would be lightweight. I admired wall tapestries for some time, but I didn’t want to cover up the whole wall. So I came up with this idea of using a round tapestry which would hang on a bamboo stick, creating a half circle above the bed. I love the end result especially considering it only took about 2 hours to make.

If you would like to create the same wall feature, here is how!

ITEMS YOU NEED:

    • 1x bamboo pole – I purchased mine in a local DIY store in a garden section – it is roughly 220cm long, I found a great option here on B&Q or on Amazon.
    • 2x faux leather straps – you can also use heavy duty fabric or old leather belts
    • 2x wall screws
    • round wall tapestry – I purchased mine here on Wish.com. (This link will take you to the page which shows endless options you can choose from) If you don’t have the account with Wish.com yet you might just need to register first. I ordered design that had perfect colour combination complimenting the bedsite tables and lamps I have purchased recently from Maison du Monde.
